Name of Event: Families for Change Virtual Gala

Participants: Over 400 businesses, non-profits, government officials, and philanthropic leaders from around the world.
Goal: The funds raised will provide COVID relief to migrant workers, including cooked meals, ration boxes for families, and Happiness Boxes containing 30 days worth of food, hygiene products, and education supplies to our mid-day meal beneficiaries.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation held its Families for Change virtual gala on September 19th, 2020. The total funds raised of $500,000 will provide COVID relief to migrant workers, including cooked meals, ration boxes for families, and Happiness Kits containing 30 days worth of food, hygiene products, and educational supplies to our mid-day meal beneficiaries as well as support mid day meals for school children when schools reopen for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Families of Change virtual event had over 400 attendees from medical professionals, businesses, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders worldwide. Srivatsan Rajan, Partner, Bain & Company, hosted the evening and held a lively conversation with our speakers, Jamshydji Godrej, Chairman & Managing Director, Godrej, and Boyce, and Sumant Sinha, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director of ReNew Power.
Overall the evening was full of lively conversations, timeless Bollywood Hits, and remarkable moments, celebrating the beneficiaries, volunteers, chapter teams from Tampa, and Miami, South Florida.
